Reverend Joshua D. Pratt is a pastor, entrepreneur, author, and consultant based in Lynchburg, Virginia, with more than 30 years of experience spanning construction, real estate, private lending, transportation, ministry, and civic leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Arizona State University and three master's degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, including a Master of Divinity in Leadership. He's an ordained Minister of the Gospel and serves bi-vocationally at All Nations Community Church.
Joshua's professional path started in hands-on remodeling and small business ownership in the mid-1990s, building practical skills in estimating, project coordination, and customer service. That foundation grew into residential construction through American Home Builders, where he oversaw custom home projects from planning through completion. His work later expanded into real estate investment, private lending, transportation operations, and consulting. Through Mission Capital Solutions and JDP Consulting, he now advises investors, business owners, and organizations on capital, structure, growth strategy, and long-term stewardship. He has also worked in more than 25 Republican political campaigns across Arizona, Virginia, Illinois, and other states.
Joshua's story isn't one of easy success. He has spoken openly about overcoming difficult early-life circumstances and the fallout from poor decisions as a young man. His faith shapes how he frames that: not as a liability, but as proof that broken places can be rebuilt. That conviction runs through everything he does, from the businesses he's built to the book he wrote, "How to Win Friends and Influence Elections: Christian Voting," which calls Christians to engage in civic life with wisdom, humility, and responsibility. It also drives Action Mission Ministry, which he founded to equip churches with biblical principles on civic duty and religious liberty.
Joshua and his wife, Sarah, support missionaries, sponsor children through international relief efforts, and are working to develop Blue Ridge Haven, a faith-centered community designed to serve families affected by autism, developmental disabilities, and caregiver fatigue. Their commitment to service isn't a side project. It's the thread that connects every role Joshua has held, builder, pastor, consultant, trainer, and author, all aimed at helping families, churches, and communities become stronger and better prepared for what's ahead.
